Cadillac is filling a yawning product gap between the midsize XT5 and the truck-based Escalade SUV with the all-new XT6. The crossover was designed to have "the stance and presence" of an Escalade but "scaled for everyday life," Cadillac design chief Andrew Smith says.
GM says this year's tallies for earnings per share and free cash flow will top 2018's. The automaker also confirmed Cadillac will be its flagship brand for EVs.
GM reported its third consecutive year of slight U.S. sales declines — capped by a softer fourth quarter — as its growing lineup of utility vehicles couldn't offset significant drops in most of its cars. GM's share of the U.S. light-vehicle market slipped to 17 percent in 2018 from 17.4 percent in 2017.
